JSHS Launches Volume 3

The Journal of Social & Health Sciences (JSHS) is pleased to announce the release of Volume 3, 2024. This volume brings together contributors from Pakistan, Uganda, and beyond, reflecting the journal's growing international reach.

The issue opens with a viewpoint from Ali Raza, "The Role of Fitness Trainers in Combating Sedentary Lifestyles," which argues that Pakistan's underdeveloped fitness industry represents a missed opportunity in the fight against noncommunicable disease. David Ditaba Mphuthi's qualitative study, "Indigenous Men's Perspectives on Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives," examines how misconceptions about contraception feed rural Ugandan men's fears of infidelity. Sana Babar's Lahore-based study, "Ankle Sprain Risk and Contributing Factors Among Women Wearing High Heels at Work," finds that heels of 10 cm or higher significantly raise the risk of ankle sprain among working women.

Other contributions include Rumaisa Alamgir's study on predictors of pressure ulcer prevention behaviors among newly graduated nurses in Lahore, Zunaira Parveen's research on nurses' pain management competence and organizational support, and Mirza Khawar Baig's comparative analysis of air quality, governance, and agricultural productivity across South Asia and Southern Europe.

JSHS remains an open-access, peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal under the leadership of Patron Dr. Muhammad Tariq and Editor-in-Chief Prof. Shakila Zaman, welcoming empirical and theoretical contributions across anthropology, economics, criminology, public health, psychology, epidemiology, sociology, and behavioral sciences. We thank our editorial board, reviewers, and contributors for making this volume possible.

We invite researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore Volume 3 and consider submitting to future editions. Submission guidelines are available on our website.
