Dr. Rafaqet Ali is a tenured Associate Professor of Economics at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, with a distinguished academic career spanning over a decade in teaching, research, and academic leadership. He earned his PhD in Economics from Gomal University with a doctoral thesis focused on the nexus between financial sector performance and economic growth in Pakistan. Dr. Ali’s research portfolio covers a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary themes including environmental sustainability, agricultural economics, climate change adaptation, public health economics, and financial development. He has authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact international journals such as Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Sustainable Cities and Society, Natural Hazards, and Journal of Cleaner Production. His work on organic farming, air transportation economics, and the socioeconomic impacts of urbanization has contributed to contemporary policy debates in South Asia. In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Ali has supervised numerous postgraduate theses and has received multiple academic accolades, including research productivity awards and best paper presentation honors. He also served in various administrative roles such as Convener of Academic Review, Library, and Purchase Committees, and is actively involved in academic policy formulation and curriculum development.
